Lagos Gov. Confirms the Re-opening of the Stadium Flyover Bridge by December 22

The Lagos State Government has confirmed the reopening of the Stadium Flyover Bridge, Surulere to traffic by Wednesday, December 22, 2021, by which time the repair works on the bridge would have been completed.

The bridge was closed on Friday, December 19, 2021, to allow for the replacement of the expansion joints.

The Commissioner, Dr Frederic Oladeinde, stated in a statement posted by the Ministry of Transportation that the repairs will be done in stages. According to him, the Phase One diversion locations will be from Alaka to the Stadium Service Lane to Barracks along the Surulere axis.

To control traffic during the renovation, Oladeinde noted that cars travelling from Alaka to Jibowu will be diverted to the Service Lane to reach their destinations, and that traffic guides will be installed along the affected route to assist motorists in navigating the axis.

The Commissioner thanked the citizens for their unwavering patience and understanding as the State undergoes various road projects while confirming that the State Traffic Management Authority will be on the ground to coordinate movement, assuring that the end result will be beneficial to both the people and the state.
