Lagos Closes Marina Road For Rail, Suggests Other Routes

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has shut the Marina Road for the Blue Line Rail Project.

The General Manager of LASTMA, Bolaji Oreagba announced the closure in a statement titled, “Traffic Advisory from LASTMA” on Sunday, while listing alternative routes that motorists can use as the construction will commence by 10 a.m. on Monday, 22nd November 2021.

A beam will be launched on the outer Marina road after descending from Apongbon Bridge. Road users were advised to plan their journey as only one lane will be available for vehicular movement from Apongbon Bridge.

Bolaji Oreagba also stated that those moving from Eko Bridge can use Leventis inwards on the outer Marina road, adding that drivers can also ply 3rd Mainland Bridge or Oyingbo-Iddo-Carter Bridge to Leventis and connect their destinations.

The General Manager appealed to the public that, “While we seek the support and cooperation of all road users, we apologize for any inconveniences this may cause”.
